Among the one hundred-and-nine (109) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month, comes news of the following:

Logo - American Honda Motor Co.American Honda Motor Co. (“Honda”), a Torrance, California establishment and a subsidiary of Honda Motor Company of Tokyo, Japan, has recalled an estimated 628,124 model year 2019-2020 Acura MDX, Acura MDX Sport Hybrid, Acura RDX, Acura TLX, Honda Accord, Honda Civic Hatchback, Honda Insight, 2019 Acura ILX, Honda Accord Hybrid, Honda Civic Coupe, Honda Civic Coupe Si, Honda Civic Sedan, Honda Civic Sedan Si, Honda Civic Type R, Honda Fit, Honda HR-V, Honda Odyssey, Honda Passport, Honda Pilot and Honda Ridgeline, and 2018-2019 Honda CR-V vehicles sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Fuel System, Gasoline – Fuel Pump may fail

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V215000 reports the Low-Pressure Fuel Pump inside the Fuel Tanks of the recalled Honda and Acura vehicles may fail.

Logo - AcuraAccording to the NHTSA, Fuel Pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Honda will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 18, 2021. Owners may contact Honda Customer Service toll-free at 1-888-234-2138 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) for more information. Please note: this recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall 20V-314.
