Among the one hundred-and-one (101) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month, comes news of the following:

Logo - General Motors LLCGeneral Motors LLC (“GM”), a Detroit, Michigan establishment, has recalled an estimated 33,838 model year 2020 Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT4, Cadillac XT5, Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Yukon, GMC Yukon XL, 2018-2021 Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana, 2019-2020 Chevrolet Blazer, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Acadia, Sierra 1500 and certain Continental tires sold to the aftermarket for various model year 2018-2021 vehicles sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Tires – Tire Failure may cause sudden air loss

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V115000 reports the affected Tires may have been over-cured during production.

Logo - CadillacAccording to the NHTSA, over-cured Tires may develop a break in the Sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or Belt Edge separation which could lead to Tread/Belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing result.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

GM will notify registered owners, and dealers will inspect the recalled Tires, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 22, 2021. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick Customer Service toll-free at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-458-8006. GM’s designation for this recall is N212329050.
