US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Real Water, Inc., a Mesa, Arizona and Henderson, Nevada establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Real Water branded Bottled Drinking Water from the American marketplace due to suspected Non-Viral Hepatitis and consequential and consequential risks of severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Bottled Drinking Water products are subject to this recall:

  • Real Water branded Bottled Drinking Water, sold in 500 ml, 1 liter, and 1.5 liters, 1 gallon ready-to-drink bottles as well as 5-gallon home and office delivery bottles
  • Real Water Concentrate, sold in 4 ounce bottles

==> No barcodes, UPCs, NDCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Real Water Bottled Drinking Water products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in retail stores on a regional basis in the greater Las Vegas, Nevada area, Northern Arizona, Southern California, Tennessee, Georgia, Chicago, New York, Mississippi and New Mexico. Real Water is also sold on Amazon.com.

In addition, 5-gallon home and office delivery bottles were distributed through direct delivery to homes and offices in the greater Las Vegas, NV area, central California coastal region (North of Los Angeles, California and South from Santa Barbara, California) and Phoenix, Arizona. Also included in the recall are the 4-ounce bottles of Real Water Concentrate, sold on the firm’s Web site. It is always possible the recalled Water products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, this recall is the result of an investigation by the Southern Nevada Health District and the FDA after reported cases of Non-Viral Hepatitis in or about November 2020 were suspected to be potentially linked to Real Water’s 5-gallon Home and Office Delivery. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Bottled Drinking Water or Concentrate products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Real Water branded Bottled Drinking Water, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Water products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Non-Viral Hepatitis and any complications from this condition.
