Among the ninety-one (91) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month, comes news of the following:

Logo - General Motors LLCGeneral Motors LLC (“GM”), a Detroit, Michigan establishment, has recalled an estimated 94,641 model year 2021 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Chevrolet Suburban and Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles with third-row seating sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Seat Belts – Seat Belts may become damaged

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V190000 reports the third-row Outboard Seat Belts may have been entrapped or misrouted behind the outboard Seat-Folding Mechanism. If this defect occurs, it could result in damaged Seat Belts.

According to the NHTSA, a damaged Seat Belt can break during a crash, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.
