Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Taylor Farms Retail, Inc., a Salinas, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Taylor Farms Creamy Dill Pickle Salad Kits from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected plastic and metal fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Creamy Dill Pickle Salad Kits are subject to this recall:

  • Taylor Farms branded Creamy Dill Pickle Salad Kits, sold in 274.14 gram cello bags with a best-before date code of 2021 MR 22, an item number of 1487794, a batch/lot code that begins with TFRG 065 and a UPC of 0 30223 04224 2

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Creamy Dill Pickle Salad Kits were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Taylor Farms Retail has recalled certain batch/lots of Taylor Farms Creamy Dill Pickle Salad Kits from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected plastic and metal fragment contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Salad Kits identified above.

In general, if glass, plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.
