Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Le Couple Trading Corporation Pty Ltd, a Sydney, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Preserved Chilli Beancurd products from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Bacillus cereus contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Chilli Beancurd products are subject to this recall:

  • Preserved Chilli Beancurd, marketed and sold in 350 gram glass jars with a use-by date code of 24.12.2022 and a batch/lot code of 24 12 2022

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Preserved Chilli Beancurd products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in New South Wales although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, Le Couple Trading Corporation Pty has recalled certain batch/lots of Preserved Chilli Beancurd products from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Bacillus cereus contamination. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Beancurd products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Preserved Chilli Beancurd products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisoning.
