UK FlagUK/London: SFC (Wholesale) Limited, an Ashton-On-Ribble, Preston, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of SFC Chicken Poppets products and SFC Take Home Boneless Buckets from the British marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following processed Chicken Poppet products are subject to recall:

  • SFC Chicken Poppets, sold in 190 gram packages with a batch/lot code of L:25820 and a best-before date of 28 February 2022
  • SFC Chicken Poppets, sold in 190 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all codes with best-before dates of 24 September 2021 or 31 October 2021
  • SFC Take-Home Boneless Buckets, sold in 650 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all codes with best-before dates up to and including 28 November 2021

==> No barcodes, EANs, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, SFC has recalled additional SFC Chicken Poppets and Take-Home Boneless Bucket because Salmonella has been found in the products. Batch codes starting with an “L” are displayed on the inner packaging inside the box. This update extends an earlier recall of SFC Chicken Poppets to include all batch/lot codes for the products with best-before dates of 24 September, 2021 and 31 October, 2021. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Chicken products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled process Chicken Popper products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Chicken products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Alternatively, you can e-mail a photo of the Chicken products’ packaging, clearly showing the batch code information, to customerservices@sfcwholesale.co.uk whereupon a refund will be processed by post.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
