Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef Meatball products are subject to this recall:

  • Whole Foods Market Beef Meatballs with Marinara Sauce, sold in 24-ounce clear plastic containers with a PLU code of 39496 and sell-by dates up to and including 2/27/21

==> No barcodes, UPCs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Beef Meatball products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the USDA, this recall was initiated after a customer reported an adverse reaction due after eating the Beef Meatballs with Marinara Sauce

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Whole Foods Market Beef Meatballs products and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
