Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Lauria Specialty Sweets, a Melbourne, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Lauria Specialty Sweets Biscuits from the Australian marketplace due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Biscuits are subject to this recall:

  • Lauria Specialty Sweets Florentine Biscuits, sold in 190 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 22/09/2021
  • Lauria Specialty Sweets Tropicana Biscuits, sold in 190 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 22/09/2021
  • Lauria Specialty Sweets Chocolate Almond Horseshoe Biscuits, sold in 190 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 22/09/2021
  • Lauria Specialty Sweets Chocolate Almond Bread, sold in 150 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 22/09/2021Lauria Specialty Sweets White Chocolate Almond Bread, sold in 150 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 22/09/2021Lauria Specialty Sweets Chocolate Shortbread Biscuits, sold in 190 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 22/09/2021
  • Lauria Specialty Sweets Double Choc Bliss Biscuits, sold in 190 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 22/09/2021
  • Lauria Specialty Sweets Honeycomb & Caramel Bliss Biscuits, sold in 190 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 22/09/2021
  • Lauria Specialty Sweets Strawberry & Cream Blis Biscuits, sold in 190 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all best-before dates up to and including 22/09/2021
  • With the following APN/EAN: 0609722862608, 0609722873253, 0609722862592, 0609722862646, 0609722873277, 0799439685925, 0793591850207, 0609722862561 and 0797776194087

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These baked goods were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Australian states and regions of Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Lauria Specialty Sweets has recalled certain batch/lots of Lauria Specialty Sweets Biscuits from the Australian marketplace due to undeclared Milk.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Lauria Specialty Sweets branded Biscuits and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
