US FlagUS/Washington: Milky Way International Trading Corp., doing business as MW Polar, a Norwalk, Caliornia establishment, recalls an estimated 297,715 pounds of Ox & Palm branded ready-to-eat Canned Corned Beef products without the benefit of US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) import re-inspection, a serious health and safety hazard.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Canned Corned Beef products imported on various dates ranging from June 6, 2020 to January 21, 2021 are subject to this recall:

  • Ox & Palm Corned Canned Beef Original, sold in a variety of container packages (see below for complete list)
  • Ox & Palm Canned Corned Beef, sold in a variety of container packages (see below for complete list)
  • Ox & Palm Chili Garlic Canned Corned Beef, sold in a variety of container packages (see below for complete list)

==> No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Canned Corned Beef products subject to recall do not bear a US Federal mark of inspection. Instead, the Beef products bear the the designation, “Australia Inspected” and a code number of “39”. These products are thought to have been shipped to retail locations US nationwide.

This recall was initiated after it was discovered during routine US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) verification tasks. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Canned Corned Beef products identified above.

==> For information about Botulism, E. Coli Poisoning, Listeriosis (Listeria poisoning) and/or Salmonellosis (Salmonella poisoning), and please consult the “Illnesses” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Canned Corned Beef products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisoning.
