Among the fifty-six (56) recalls the European Union announced in its fourth (and final) report of February 2021, the following recall notification was made:

Newcential Cross-Expander Elastic Training Bands

Newcential branded Cross-Expander Elastic Training Bands, sold with a batch/lot designation of 1234261-4020 and a barcode/EAN of 4337185747427.

These Cross-Expander Elastic Training Bands are marketed, sold and delivered as home-based sports equipment consisting of a four-leafed clover leaf design with one (1) pull-handle attached to each loop. The device can be used to provide strength resistance training as well as flexibility conditioning.

No item numbers, best-before date codes, model numbers, manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Newcential branded Cross-Expander Elastic Training Bands include the reported finding that the attachment coupling between the Training Bands could sustain a structural failure and suddenly detach during normal exercise activities when utilizing the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and supposed use.

As a direct consequence of these reported defects, the Newcential branded Cross-Expander Elastic Training Bands may cause injury, laceration, bone fracture and eye damage if the coupling attachment between the Training Bands fails under tension and suddenly gives way with dangerous kinetic energy.

These products, therefore, do not comply with Europe’s Safety Directives and relevant safety legislation.
