Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Nerada Tea Pty Ltd, a Sunnybank Hills, Queensland establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Nerada Organics branded Lemon & Ginger Organic Herbal Tea Infusion from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Ethylene Oxide chemical contamination and consequential risks of oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract damage and poisoning as well as various forms of Cancer, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Lemon & Ginger Organic Herbal Tea Infusion products are subject to this recall:

  • Nerada Organics branded Lemon & Ginger Organic Herbal Tea Infusion, sold in 60 gram cardboard boxes consisting of 40 tea cup bags; affected batch/lots: all best-before date codes from 08/01/23 up to and including 22/01/23 with an APN/EAN of 9 310551 002141

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Herbal Tea products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Woolworths in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory (“ACT”) and Queensland, Coles in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and Victoria and independent food retailers including IGA in New South Wales, ACT, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Nerada Tea Pty Ltd, has recalled certain batch/lots of Nerada Organics Lemon & Ginger Organic Herbal Infusion from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Ethylene Oxide chemical contamination. As a result of this defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Herbal Tea products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Nerada Organics Lemon & Ginger Organic Herbal Tea Infusion products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the Herbal Tea to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
