US FlagUS/Washington: GLG Trading Inc., a Chino, California establishment, recalls an estimated 96,810 pounds of Ming Yang Hotpot Seasoning Beef Tallow products that were imported from People’s Republic of China, an ineligible country for Beef importation, and distributed in the United States without the benefit of US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) import re-inspection, a serious health and safety hazard.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef Tallow products are subject to this recall:

  • Ming Yang Hotpot Seasoning Beef Tallow (slightly spicy), sold in 17.6-ounce vacuum sealed packages
  • Ming Yang Hotpot Seasoning Beef Tallow (super spicy, extremely), sold in 17.6-ounce vacuum sealed packages
  • Ming Yang Hotpot Seasoning Beef Tallow (medium spicy, mala), 12.07-ounce vacuum sealed packages

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail and wholesale presentation. Additional images of the recalled Hotpot Seasoning products can be found on the Web site above.

These Hotpot Seasoning Beef Tallow products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in retail locations and restaurants in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Texas although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall do not bear a US Federal mark of inspection.

This recall was initiated after it was discovered during routine US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) verification tasks. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Hotpot Seasoning products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Hotpot Seasoning Beef Tallow products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
