Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Siena Foods Pty Limited, a Regency Park, South Australia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of La Mole Sfornatini al Sesamo (Grissini Sesame) Flavoured Bread Sticks from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Ethylene Oxide chemical contamination and consequential risks of oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract damage and poisoning as well as various forms of Cancer, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Bread Stick products are subject to this recall:

  • La Mole Sfornatini al Sesamo (Grissini Sesame) Flavoured Bread Sticks, sold in 120 gram cardboard boxes with batch/lot of code L200925, a use-by date of 25/09/2021 and an APN/EAN of 8008685003202

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Bread Sticks were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Australian state of South Australia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Siena Foods Pty has recalled certain batch/lots of La Mole Sfornatini al Sesamo (Grissini Sesame) Flavoured Bread Sticks from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Ethylene Oxide chemical contamination. As a result of this defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Bread Sticks identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled La Mole Sfornatini al Sesamo (Grissini Sesame) Flavoured Bread Sticks, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the Bread Sticks to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
