Solstice Ciderworks Cider Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Solstice Ciderworks, a Whitehorse, Yukon establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Solstice Ciderworks branded Cider beverages from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected leaking cans and consequential risks of suspected secondary fermentation, increased Alcohol content, unexpected intoxication, eye damage, bone fracture, laceration and/or property damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Cider products are subject to this recall:

  • Solstice Ciderworks branded Solstice Haskap Cider, sold in six (6) by 355 ml cans with a UPC of 0 684417 837550 (shown above)
  • Solstice Ciderworks branded Cider Fix Variety Pack, sold in four (4) by 355 ml cans with a UPC of 0 684417 83758

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Solstice Ciderworks branded Cider beverages were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian territory of the Yukon although it is always possible these alcoholic beverages had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Solstice Ciderworks has recalled certain batch/lots of Solstice Ciderworks branded Cider beverages from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected leaking cans. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled alcohol identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food or beverage, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Solstice Ciderworks branded Cider beverages, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
