US FlagUS/Washington: Food Evolution, a Schiller Park, Illinois establishment, recalls an estimated 6,806 pounds of ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Dip and Salad products from the American marketplace due to suspected production without the benefit of Federal Inspection with consequential risks of bacterial contamination, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Dips and Salads were produced on various dates ranging from November 9, 2020 to January 29, 2021 with “use-by” dates ranging up to and including February 6, 2021 are subject to this recall, as follows:

  • Taco Dip With Refried Beans, Chili, Sour Cream, Cheddar, Onions, Black Olives, Jalapenos & Red Pepper Thoughtfully Handmade – Fresh To You – Fresh, Fast, Gourmet., sold in 31-ounce containers
  • Taco Dip With Refried Beans, Chili, Sour Cream, Cheddar, Onions, Black Olives, Jalapenos & Red Pepper Thoughtfully Handmade – Fresh To You – Fresh, Fast, Gourmet, sold in 18-ounce containers
  • Tri-Colored Italian Style Rotini Pasta Salad with Salami Thoughtfully Handmade – Fresh To You – Fresh, Fast, Gourmet, sold in 7-ounce containers
  • German Style Potato Salad with Bacon Thoughtfully Handmade – Fresh To You – Fresh, Fast, Gourmet, sold in 8-ounce containers

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Dip and Salads products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 34309” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

These Dip and Salads were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US state of Illinois although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

This recall was initiated after it was discovered during routine US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) verification tasks. FSIS personnel discovered that the establishment reportedly produced amenable product at an off-site facility without the benefit of Federal Inspection, then repackaged and labeled the products with the USDA mark of inspection at the federal establishment. As a direct of this situation, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dip and Salad products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dips and/or Salads, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
