Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: K S NSW Pty Ltd., a Silverwater, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Wang Korea Sweet Rice Pancakes from the Australian marketplace due to undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Sweet Rice Pancakes are subject to this recall:

  • Wang Korea branded Sweet Rice Pancake Original Flavour, sold in 180 gram packages, a batch/lot of 15323, date markings 2021.10.31, 2021.12.31, 2022.02.28, 2022.06.15, 2022.08.31 or 2022.09.30 and an APN/EAN of 087703153233
  • Wang Korea branded Sweet Rice Pancake Green Tea Flavour, sold in 180 gram packages, a batch/lot of 15408, date markings 2021.10.31, 2021.12.31 or 2022.08.31 and an APN/EAN of 087703154087

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Sweet Rice Pancakes were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Australian states of Victoria and Western Australia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, the Original Flavour has been available for sale at independent food retailers and Asian grocery stores in Western Australia and Victoria. The Green Tea Flavour has been available for sale at independent food retailers including IGA and Asian grocery stores in Western Australia.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Sweet Rice Pancakes and could be allergic to their Eggs ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
