US FlagUS/Silver Spring: House-Autry Mills, a Four Oaks, North Carolina establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of House-Autry branded Tartar Sauce from the American marketplace due to suspected spoilage and consequential risks of bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Tartar Sauce products are subject to this recall:

  • House-Autry Tartar Sauce, sold in nine (9) ounce plastic squeeze bottles with an item code of 60013, best-before codes of BB 08182021, BB 08232021, BB 09162021, BB 09172021, BB 09182021 or BB 09212021 and a UPC of 0 73484-60013 4

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These recalled Tartar Sauce products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states, regions, districts or territories of Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information. The Tartar Sauce products were known to be distributed between December 15, 2020 and January 18, 2021.

According to the FDA, House-Autry Mills has recalled certain batch/lots of House-Autry Tartar Sauce from the American marketplace due to suspected spoilage. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Tartar Sauce identified above.

Please note: while these Tartar Sauce food products may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products during the time period since from November 1, 2020 and January 18, 2021, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Tartar Sauce products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Sauce products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial contamination.
