Logo - Simpson Performance ProductsStrategic Sports, Ltd. (“Strategic Sports”), a Coronado, California establishment, has recalled an estimated 3,752 Simpson Performance Products Shorty OTW (“Over the Wall”) Helmets, part number ST-205, in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL manufactured from March 1, 2017 to August 11, 2020 and marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 21E003000 reports the recalled Helmets lack proper retention system integrity, penetration protection and labels. As such, these Helmets fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, “Motorcycle Helmets”.

According to the NHTSA, a Helmet that does not provide adequate protection increases the risk of injury during a crash, including concussion, skull fracture, facial injury and/or eye damage with consequential life-changing or life-ending results.
