Among the twenty-two (22) recalls the NHTSA has announced in January 2021, comes news of the following:

Logo - Daimler Trucks North America LLCDaimler Trucks North America LLC (“DTNA”), a Portland, Oregon establishment and a subsidiary of Daimler AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 4,341 model year 2020-2022 Freightliner Cascadia Sleeper Trucks equipped with Bridgestone R284, R268, or R283S ECOPIA Steer Axle Tires in conjunction with a specific Air Dam marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Tires – Tire Tread separation/blowout

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V007000 reports the Steer Tires may experience tread separation or blow-outs while driving.

Logo - FreightlinerAccording to the NHTSA, tread separation and/or blow-outs while driving may result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Daimler Trucks will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the steer tires, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 13, 2021. Owners may contact Daimler Trucks Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-547-0712 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) for more information. DTNA’s designation for this recall is FL872.
