Recall Category: Air Bags, Seat Belts – The Supplemental Restraint System (“SRS”) Control Unit can detach

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V001000 reports the vehicles’ Supplementary Restraint System (“SRS”) Control Unit may not have been properly attached to the car body. As a result of this reported defect, the SRS Control Unit could detach during a crash.

According to the NHTSA, a detached SRS Control Unit can decrease the performance of Occupant Protection Systems such as air bags, seat belts, and high voltage battery disconnect, increasing the risk of injury during a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.
