Nestlé Hot Pockets Sandwich Recall [US]

US FlagUS/Washington: Nestlé Prepared Foods, a Mount Sterling, Kentucky establishment, recalls an estimated 762,615 pounds of not-ready-to-eat (“NRTE”) Pepperoni Hot Pockets from the American marketplace due to suspected plastic and/or glass fragment contamination and consequential risks of risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Pepperoni Hot Pockets were produced from November 13, 2020 through November 16, 2020 and are subject to this recall:

  • Nestlé Hot Pockets branded Sandwiches: Premium Pepperoni Made with Pork, Chicken & Beef Pizza Garlic Buttery Crust, sold in 54-ounce carton boxes containing 12 individual Pockets with a best-before date code of FEB 2022 and batch/lot codes of 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614 or 0321544614.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the food products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 7721A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The Pepperoni Hot Pockets were thought to have been shipped to retail locations US nationwide.

The problem was discovered when the firm received four (4) complaints of extraneous material in the Pepperoni Hot Pocket Sandwiches.

Nestlé Prepared Foods has received one (1) report of a minor oral injury associated with consumption of this product. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Nestlé Hot Pockets branded Sandwiches identified above.

In general, if plastic, glass or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Nestlé Hot Pockets branded Sandwiches, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the Sandwiches to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction.

Please note: these food products have a stated shelf-life of fourteen (14) months and may be in your freezers or storage chillers for quite some time. If you have purchased these products during the period ranging from November 1, 2020 to January 1, 2021, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.
