Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Woolworths Group Limited, a Bella Vista, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Woolworths Classic Coleslaw from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Coleslaw products are subject to this recall:

  • Woolworths Classic Coleslaw, sold in 110 gram, 250 gram, 400 gram and 800 gram plastic clamshell trays; affected batch/lots: all use-by dates from 12 Jan/2021 up to and including 21 Jan/2021 with a batch identifier with a letter “S” after the date code and EAN codes of 93518918, 9300633626501, 9300633225674 or 9300633987015

==> No barcodes, APNs, EANs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Coleslaw products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in Woolworths Supermarkets and Metro stores in New South Wales and ACT and some Woolworths Supermarkets in regional Victoria although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Woolworths Group has recalled certain batch/lots of Woolworths Classic Coleslaw from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination. Due to this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Coleslaw products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Woolworths Classic Coleslaw products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
