US FlagCanada FlagUS/Washington & Canada/Ottawa: BRP US Inc., a Sturtevant, Wisconsin establishment and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc., a Valcourt, Quebec establishment recall an estimated total 704 Can-Am branded Off-Road Screw Jacks (approximately 650 in the US and approximately 54 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to suspected structural collapse under load and consequential risks of falls, laceration, crush, concussion, bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury, all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Can-Am Off-Road Screw Jacks sold as an accessory for Maverick X3 Side-By-Side Vehicles.

  • These devices are used to lift an off-road vehicle so that a flat or damaged tire can be changed. They are silver-colored with a black base. The brand, “Can-Am” can be found printed on the arm of the Screw Jack.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, NDCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Screw Jack can collapse and cause the lifted vehicle to fall on a person. If this defect occurs, it poses a crush hazard that can result in severe injury or death.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled an-Am Off-Road Screw Jacks, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact a BRP Can-Am Off-Road dealer to receive a full refund.

Please note: this is a joint recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada (“HCSC”).
