Among the ninety-six (96) recalls the NHTSA announced this past month came news of the following:

Logo - Daimler Vans USADaimler Vans USA, LLC (“DVUSA”), a Centennial, Colorado establishment and a subsidiary of Daimler AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 9,094 model year

Recall Category: Service Brakes, Hydraulic – Brake Caliper may leak

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V802000 reports the Rear Brake Calipers may leak Brake Fluid into the housing of the Electric Parking Brake connected to the Rear Axle Service Brake System, allowing air to enter the Hydraulic Brake System.

According to the NHTSA, air in the Brake System can result in Extended Brake Pedal travel, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Logo - Freightliner==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.
