Among the eighty-five (85) recalls the NHTSA announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - Nissan North America, Inc.Nissan North America, Inc. (“Nissan”), a Franklin, Tennessee establishment and a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Company of Yokohama, Japan has recalled an estimated 2,708 model year 2011-2013 Infiniti M56, 2012-2013 M35 Hybrid and 2014 Q70 and Q70 Hybrid Vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Power Train – Driveshaft can break

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V755000 reports these models and equipped with 2 Wheel Drive and with a hybrid or VK56 Powertrain, have a Driveshaft that may break.

Logo - InfinitiAccording to the NHTSA, a broken Driveshaft can cause a loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash, or may disable the Parking Brake, increasing the risk of a rollaway and crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Infiniti will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the Driveshaft, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 29, 2021. Owners may contact Infiniti Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-662-6200 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”).
