Among the eighty-five (85) recalls the NHTSA announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - Forest River, Inc.Forest River, Inc. (“Forest River”), an Elkhart, Indiana establishment and subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway of Omaha, Nebraska, has recalled an estimated 2,818 model year 2018-2020 RPOD Travel Trailers marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Equipment – Sewer Termination Bracket may fail

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V763000 reports the Sewer Termination Bracket may fail, causing the plumbing to drag on the ground or to detach completely.

According to the NHTSA, if the Plumbing were to detach, it can become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Forest River will notify registered owners, and dealers will install a new securement bracket, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 19, 2021. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service toll-free at 1-574-642-3119, option 2 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”). Forest River’s designation for this recall is 51-1265.
