Among the thirty-six (36) recalls the European Union has announced in its second report of December 2020, the following recall notification was made:

Techlife branded Electric Scooter Recall [EU]

Techlife branded Electric Scooters, sold with a model number of X9 and an unknown serial number or VIN range.

These Techlife branded Electric Scooters are marketed and sold as lithium-ion battery-powered scooters for single-person transport over short distances.

No barcodes, EANs, UPCs, VINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, model numbers, manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Techlife branded Electric Scooters include the reported finding that the devices are equipped with an inadequate connecting platform joining the handlebar and the front wheel assembly.

As a direct consequence of this reported defect, the Techlife branded Electric Scooters may develop cracks when rider/operators utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with their intended use. If this defect occurs, it could cause the crucial support element to break and the rider to lose control of the vehicle and suffer falls, lacerations, bone fractures, concussions and/or life-changing Central Nervous System (“CNS”) injuries. In addition, the strap is too long and may lead to strangulation of a child.

Consequently, a recall of these recalled Techlife branded Electric Scooters, a ban on the marketing and sale of this product within the European Community, a withdrawal of the products from the European marketplace and a recall from end user/owners from has been ordered.
