Hilly Acres Farm Fresh Egg Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Hilly Acres Farm, a Boularderie, Nova Scotia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Farmer John Eyking branded and Nova Eggs branded Fresh Chicken Eggs from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Fresh Chicken Eggs are subject to this recall:

  • Farmer John Eyking branded Large Size Eggs, sold in cartons of 12 eggs with date codes of DEC 27 N38, JAN 3 N38 or JAN 10 N38 and a UPC of 0 73557 00002 1
  • Farmer John Eyking branded Large Size Brown Eggs, sold in cartons of 12 eggs with date codes of DEC 27 N38, JAN 3 N38 or JAN 10 N38 and a UPC of 0 73557 00005 2
  • Nova Eggs branded Large Size White Eggs, sold in cartons of 18 eggs with a date code of JAN 10 N38 and a UPC of 0 59001 90118 2

==> No best-before date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Fresh Chicken Eggs were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Hilly Acres Farm has recalled certain batch/lots of Farmer John Eyking branded and Nova Eggs branded Fresh Chicken Eggs from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Fresh Chicken Eggs identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Fresh Chicken Eggs, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
