UK FlagUK/London: Lactalis Nestlé Chilled Dairy UK, a Redhill, Surrey establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Nescafé Shakissimo Espresso Latte products from the British marketplace due to suspected products due to suspected chemical contamination, specifically, a Hydrogen Peroxide-based cleaning solution, and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract burn damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Espresso Latte products are subject to recall:

  • Nescafé Shakissimo Espresso Latte, sold in 190 ml containers with a use-by date of 26 January 2021

==> No barcodes, EANs, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the beverage’s design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Espresso Latte products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FSA, the recalled Espresso Latte products have reportedly been contaminated with cleaning solution containing Hydrogen Peroxide. If this defect is present, it could make the product unsafe to drink. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Espresso Latte products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Nescafé Shakissimo Espresso Latte, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Latte products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat poisonings, burns, choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and/or GI tract laceration.
