US FlagUS/Silver Spring: George DeLallo Co., Inc., a Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Publix Bakery branded Holiday Cookie Platters from the American marketplace due to Pecan Nuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Publix Bakery branded Holiday Cookie Platters are subject to this recall:

  • Publix Bakery Holiday Cookie Platters, sold in 20-ounce platters with a batch/lot of W34326, a best-by date code of 10/APR/2021 and a UPC of 41415 88690.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Cookie Platters were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Publix locations in Florida counties of Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Broward and Monroe are not currently thought to be impacted by this recall although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country than previously thought. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after it was discovered that the Pecan-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of Pecans.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Publix Bakery branded Holiday Cookie Platters and could be allergic to their Pecan Nut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat such as Anaphylaxis.
