US FlagUS/Washington: Continental Glatt Kosher Meats Corp., doing business as First Choice Kosher Meat & Deli Inc., a Spring Valley, New York establishment, recalls an estimated 61,504 pounds of ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Satmar branded and non-branded Meat and Poultry products from the American marketplace due to suspected production without the benefit of federal inspection with consequential risks of bacterial contamination, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following prepared Meat and Poultry items were produced and packaged on dates ranging from June 26, 2020 through November 20, 2020, with various sell-by dates ranging from October 2, 2020 through April 18, 2021, are subject to this recall, as follows (in alphabetical order):

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the recall initiated was discovered when the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets alerted US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) about meat and poultry products produced by Continental Glatt Kosher Meats Corp., without the benefit of federal inspection and bearing the mark of inspection from another establishment without authorization.

Due to this defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Satmar branded and non-branded Meat and Poultry products identified above.

The FSIS is concerned that some Satmar branded and non-branded Meat and Poultry products may be in your refrigerators or freezers. If you have purchased any of these products during the period of June 1, 2020 to December 15, 2020, please do not serve nor consume them. Instead, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Satmar branded and non-branded Meat and Poultry products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
