US FlagUS/Washington: Lidl US Trading LLC, an Arlington, Virginia establishment, recalls an estimated 4,000 Powerfix Steel Shelving Units from the American marketplace due to suspected missing wall mounting hardware and consequential risks of laceration, concussion, crush hazards, bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury, all serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves Lidl’s Powerfix Metal Shelving Units, as follows:

  • Lidl’s Powerfix Metal Shelving Units are approximately 59 inches tall and contain four (4) metal shelves. They come in a box marked with an article number of 314367 and a UPC of 4017239206062. One of the shelves in the unit is marked with a white sticker containing the article number of 314367.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled products can be found on the Web site listed above.

==> No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the recalled Shelving Units can be missing wall mounting hardware, components used to attach the Shelving Unit to the wall to prevent them from tipping or falling. Due to this defect, the Powerfix Metal Shelving Units may pose tip-over and/or entrapment hazards to people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Powerfix Steel Shelving Units, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat laceration, concussion, bone fractures, crush injuries and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury.
