US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Whole Foods Market, an Austin, Texas establishment and subsidiary of Seattle, Washington-based Amazon.com, recalls certain batch/lots of packaged Popcorn Chicken with Sweet Chili Sauce from the American marketplace and known to have been sold in 26 stores in Northern California and Reno, Nevada due to undeclared Shellfish, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Whole Foods Popcorn Chicken are subject to this recall:

  • Whole Foods Popcorn Chicken with Sweet Chili, sold with sell-by dates through November 27, 2020 with a PLU of 81789 printed on the scale label near the UPC.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, NDCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after a customer complaint. As a result of this reported defect, one (1) illness had been reported by the date of this notification. Consequently, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Whole Foods Popcorn Chicken products identified above.

Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
