US NHTSA Recalls: Land Rover Discovery Vehicles

Among the fifty-three (53) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - Jaguar Land Rover North AmericaJaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (“Land Rover”), a Mahwah, New Jersey establishment and a subsidiary of Tata Motors of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, has recalled an estimated 11,084 model year 2019-2020 Land Rover branded Discovery vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Electrical System – Loss of electrical power from loose Ground Stud

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V694000 reports a loose contact between the battery ground stud and the chassis may result in various electrical faults, possibly causing a loss of electrical power or the vehicle to shut down while driving.

According to the NHTSA, if the vehicle shuts down or loses exterior lighting while driving there could be an increased risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

Logo - Land Rover==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, amputation, concussions, bone fractures and/or internal injuries.

Land Rover will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the ground stud, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 8, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-369-1000 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). Land Rover’s designation for this recall is N400.
