Samsung branded ETA-U90EBE Travel Adapters, sold with an unknown model number, an unknown model number and an unlisted barcode.

These Samsung branded ETA-U90EBE Travel Adapters are marketed and sold as electrical devices designed to physically allow one country’s AC plug system to connect to another and are used by travelers to use their “home” electronic devices in foreign countries with different plug configurations

No barcodes, EANs, UPCs, DINs, best-before date codes, model numbers, manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Samsung branded ETA-U90EBE Travel Adapters include the reported finding that the clearance/creepage distances between the primary and accessible secondary circuits are not sufficient.

In addition, the product’s pieces are small and the magnet can easily be detached during normal handling or play activities that could be reasonably expected with utilization of the Toy. If the child puts these small pieces in his or her mouth, it could cause choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical and/or surgical intervention.

As a direct consequence of this reported defect, the user of these electrical products could receive an electric shock due to the accessible live parts. The devices, therefore, do not comply with the requirements of the European Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60950-1.

Consequently, a recall of these recalled Samsung branded ETA-U90EBE Travel Adapters, and a withdrawal of the products from the European marketplace from the European marketplace has been ordered.
