Philips Hue 40 Watt Outdoor Power Supply Units Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Signify Canada Ltd., a Markham, Ontario establishment, recalls an estimated 11,037 Philips Hue 40 Watt Outdoor Power Supply Units from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected water incursion and consequential risks of electric shock, burns and fire, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the recall applies to certain Philips Hue 40 Watt Outdoor Power Supply Units (“PSUs”), as follows:

  • Philips Hue 40 Watt Outdoor Power Supply Units with the first four digits of the production date code identified by numbers ranging from “0001”  to “1941”. The four-digit date code can be found on the front of each Power Supply Units (“PSU”) as a five-digit number. Only the first four digits represent the date code.

  • Philips Hue Lily Spot Lights, sold with date codes ranging from 0001 to 1941 and a UPC of 046677802066
  • Philips Hue Lily XL Spot Light, sold with date codes ranging from 0001 to 1941 and a UPC of 046677803469
  • Philips Hue Calla Pedestal Light, sold with date codes ranging from 0001 to 1941 and a UPC of 046677802097
  • Philips Hue Econic Pedestal Light, sold with date codes ranging from 0001 to 1941 and a UPC of 046677803476

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, this recall was initiated with it was discovered that some Philips Hue 40 Watt Outdoor Power Supply Units (“PSUs”) may become damaged due to water incursion. If this defect occurs, it poses risk of electric shock, burns and/or fire to people who are utilizing the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Philips Hue 40 Watt Outdoor Power Supply Units, please do not use them.
