Toys "R" Us Droplets Submarine Bath Toys Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Toys “R” Us Canada Ltd., a Concord, Ontario establishment, recalls an estimated 590 Droplets Submarine Wind-Up Bath Toys from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected component detachment and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Children’s Bath Toys are subject to this recall:

  • Droplets Submarine Wind-Up Bath Toys, blue and white coloured submarine toys with a small “driver” seated inside, sold with a model number of 484385, a manufacturer’s item number of 312-17107 and a UPC of 5056289410271

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, the propeller blade part of the Submarine Bath Toy can break off when playing or handling the Toy in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use. If this defect occurs, it can free small parts with sharp edges.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Children’s Bath Toys, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.
