UK FlagUK/London: Bettinehoeve NV, an Etten-Leur, Netherlands establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Bettine Blanc Goat’s Cheese products from the British marketplace and sold at Waitrose & Partners stores due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Goat’s Cheese products are subject to recall:

  • Bettine Blanc Goat’s Cheese (Counter Line), sold at Waitrose’s in-store deli counters in various package size

==> No barcodes, EANs, NDCs, DINs, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Bettinehoeve has recalled all current batch/lots of Bettine Blanc Goat’s Cheese products from the British marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. These Cheese products were sold at Waitrose Deli Counters from September 4, 2020 (04/09/20) to October 29, 2020 (29/10/20). You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Goat’s Cheese products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Bettine Blanc Goat’s Cheese products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the cheese products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listerosis.
