Additional information:

Among the twenty-six (26) recalls the European Union has announced in its fifth (and final) report of October 2020, the following recall notification was made:

Lineway branded Ceiling Lamps

Lineway branded Ceiling Lamps with Radar Motion Detection, sold with a model number of HT015A, an unknown batch/lot, an unlisted barcode and a SKU of X000Y1FP2B.

These lighting products are marketed as ceiling-mounted lights suitable for illuminating an indoor residential space. They consist of a large white oval fixture with nickel-colored oval attachment rings

No barcodes, EANs, UPCs, DINs, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Lineway branded Ceiling Lamps with Radar Motion Detection include the reported finding that the clamping on the earth (ground) electrical terminal may suddenly become loose without notice or warning. If this defect occurs, anyone who attempts to operate the lamp (by turning it on, turning it off or changing the bulbs inside) can complete the electrical circuit, receive an electric shock and suffer serious injury.

In addition, in the event that a person is using a ladder or similar assistive device to change the bulb or even clean the light’s shade, the electric shock could cause muscle seizures and consequential falls from height with associative lacerations, broken bones and/or concussion.

As a direct consequence of this reported defect, an operator, maintenance worker or cleaner can suffer life-threatening or life-altering injury from the original electrical shock or from the resultant fall from height, requiring immediate medical and/or surgical intervention.

Due to these defects, the recalled Lineway branded Ceiling Lamps do not comply with Europe’s applicable Regulatory Standards, the requirements of EU’s Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standards EN 60598-1 and EN 60598-2.

Consequently, a recall of these recalled Lineway Ceiling Lamps, a withdrawal of the products from the European marketplace and a destruction of the Lamps by the Importer has been ordered.
