Among the sixty-nine (69) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - Forest River, Inc.Forest River, Inc. (“Forest River”), an Elkhart, Indiana establishment and subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway of Omaha, Nebraska, has recalled an estimated 551 model year 2021 Salem and Wildwood Recreational Trailers marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Equipment – Cooktop Flame may become inverted

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V632000 reports the flame on the cooktop may become inverted, due to the cooktop not being isolated from the furnace return air.

According to the NHTSA, an inverted flame can increase the risk of a fire, explosion, and/or burns with consequential risks of serious injury and/or life changing or life threatening consequences.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions and/or bone fractures.

Forest River will notify registered owners, and dealers will add sealant to the gaps in the paneling that are allowing the return air from the Furnace to cause the inverted flame, free of charge. The recall began October 15, 2020.

Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service toll-free at 1-574-534-3167 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). Forest River’s designation for this recall is 72-1232.
