Canada/Ottawa: MG Chemicals Ltd. a Burlington, Ontario establishment, recalls an estimated total 5013 units of MG Chemicals branded Epoxy Glue Products (an estimated 928 units of the Epoxy Kits and an estimated 4085 units of the Epoxy Dual Syringes) from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected failure to meet Canadian labelling and child-resistant packaging requirements for Quick Skin-Bonding Adhesives required by Canada’s Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act and consequential risks of poisoning, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and death, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves six (6) MG Chemicals Epoxy Glue Products, five (5) Epoxy Kits and one (1) Dual Syringe.

The recalled Epoxy Kits are packaged in a box that consist of a 250 mL resin “Part-A” container and a 125 mL “Part-B” container while the Dual-Cartridge syringe is 25 mL in capacity, as follows:

  • 832B Black Epoxy Glue, sold with a product code of 832B-375MLCA, batch/lot designations of 19057, 19015, 18169, 18191 and 19221G-1 and a UPC of 779008 832394
  • 832C Translucent Epoxy Glue, sold with a product code of 832C-375MLCA, batch/lot designations of 18310, 18191, 18036, 18016 and 20105A and a UPC of 779008 832622
  • 832HT High Temperature Epoxy Glue, sold with a product code of 832HT-375MLCA, batch/lot designations of 19045, 19015, 16258-1 and 16098-1 and a UPC of 779008 832486
  • 832WC Water Clear Epoxy Glue, sold with a product code of 832WC-375MLCA, a batch/lot designation of 18059 and a UPC of 779008 832073
  • 834ATH Flame Retardant Epoxy Glue, sold with a product code of 834ATH-375MLCA, a batch/lot designation of 19052 and a UPC of 779008 834268
  • 8332 Fast Set Epoxy Glue, sold with a product code of 8332-25ML, batch/lot designations of 17033, 17160, 17272, 17345, 18059, 18152, 18260, 19056, 19114, 19189F, 19268I, 20003B and 20127F and a UPC of 779008 833223

According to Health Canada, the recalled Adhesive products do not meet the labelling and child-resistant packaging requirements for adhesives required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. The lack of child-resistant packaging could result in unintentional exposure to these products and lead to serious illness, injury or death.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled MG Chemicals branded Adhesive products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the place of purchase for a refund or safely dispose of them in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements.

Disposal of this product must be in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect your personal safety, the local drinking water supply and the ecosystem. Please consult your local municipal waste authority for the correct steps for your particular community.

Please note: the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
