Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Yuen’s Market Trading Co, a Sunnybank, Queensland establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Golden Horse branded Dried Anchovy Fish – Kho Ca Com from the Australian marketplace due to undeclared Histamine and consequential risk of Hypotension, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Fish products are subject to this recall:

  • Golden Horse Dried Anchovy – Kho Ca Com, sold in 450 gram plastic bags with a best-before date of 06/01/2023 and an APN/EAN of 8936042110686

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, the recall is due to biotoxin (Histamine) contamination. Food products containing Histamine may cause illness/injury, including a sudden and dangerous drop in blood pressure, if consumed. Consequently, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dried Anchovy Fish identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Golden Horse branded Dried Anchovy Fish, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Histamine poisoning.
