UK FlagUK/London: ALDI Stores Limited, an Atherstone, Warwickshire establishment, expands its existing recall for certain batch/lots of Roosters branded Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken and Roosters branded Breaded Poppin’ Chicken products from the British marketplace to include all batch/lots and current best-before dates.

The original recall was initiated due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Chicken products are subject to recall:

  • Roosters branded Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken, sold in 210 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all batch/lot codes and all current best-before dates
  • Roosters branded Breaded Poppin’ Chicken, sold in 210 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all batch/lot codes and all current best-before dates

==> No barcodes, EANs, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Chicken products or foods can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FSA, ALDI Stores has recalled certain batch/lots of Roosters branded Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken and Roosters branded Breaded Poppin’ Chicken from the British marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Chicken products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Roosters Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken and/or Roosters Breaded Poppin’ Chicken, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Chicken to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
