Among the fifty-one (51) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - General Motors LLCGeneral Motors LLC (“GM”), a Detroit, Michigan establishment, has recalled an estimated 14,620 model year 2018 Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon vehicles equipped with either a 5.3L or 6.2L V8 engine marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Service Brakes, Hydraulic – Vacuum Pump may decrease Power Brake Assist

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V603000 reports the output of the Mechanical Vacuum Pump can decrease over time, decreasing the amount of Vacuum/Power Brake Assist.

Logo - ChevroletAccording to the NHTSA, a decrease in Power Brake Assist can increase the Brake Pedal effort and distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

GLogo - Cadillaceneral Motors will notify registered owners, and dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module, free of charge. The recall is scheduled to begin November 16, 2020.
