Inc., a Union, New Jersey establishment, an affiliate of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., also of Union, New Jersey, and Bed Bath & Beyond Canada LP, doing business as Buy Buy Baby, a North Vancouver, British Columbia establishment, recall an estimated total 10,330 of SALT branded Lounge Chairs (approximately 10,000 in the US and approximately 330 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces respectively due to suspected failure, structural collapse and consequential risks of laceration, concussion, bone fracture and property damage, all serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain SALT branded Lounge Chairs, as follows:

  • SALT branded Lounge Chairs, sold with a gray fabric cushion with a SKU 69476172 and a UPC of 444800007102
  • SALT branded Lounge Chairs, sold with a black fabric cushion with a SKU 69476173 and a UPC of 444800002947

The recalled Lounge Chairs consist of a metal tube frame and a colored fabric seat cushion. There is a locking mechanism on each side of the frame.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the locking mechanism on the Lounge Chairs frame can disengage suddenly and without warning. If this defect occurs, it poses risks of laceration, concussion, bone fracture and property damage.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled SALT branded Lounge Chairs, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return them to any Bed Bath & Beyond location for a full refund of the purchase price, or a merchandise credit if the your purchase price cannot be determined.

Please note: this is a joint recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada (“HCSC”).
