Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Cheese products are subject to recall:
- Simply Mature White Cheddar Cheese, sold in 900 gram clear plastic packages with a best-before date of 26 December 2020
==> No barcodes, EANs, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.
Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.
According to the FSA, Lidl GB has recalled certain batch/lots of Simply Mature branded White Cheddar from the British marketplace due to suspected plastic fragment contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cheese identified above.
In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.
==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Lidl Simply Mature White Cheddar Cheese products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Cheese to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
