Additional information:

Among the thirty-eight (38) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - PACCAR IncorporatedPACCAR Incorporated (“PACCAR”), a Bellevue, Washington establishment, has recalled an estimated 1,416 model year 2016-2021 Kenworth T680 Trucks equipped with a 2.1m Cab and WABCO 6S/6M ABS Brake System with drum brakes marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Service Brakes, Air – Incorrect Rear Brake ABS Modulator Valve in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 121

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V593000 reports the Brake Systems of the recalled T680 Trucks were manufactured with a standard Rear-Brake ABS Modulator Valve instead of a Quick Release Valve, which may exceed the intended Service-Brake release timing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, “Air Brake Systems”.

Logo - Kenworth TrucksAccording to the NHTSA, longer than expected Service-Brake release timing may lengthen vehicle stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions and/or bone fractures.

PACCAR will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the standard rear-brake, ABS modulator valve with a quick release valve, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 25, 2020.

Owners may contact PACCAR Customer Service toll-free at 1-425-828-5888 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”). PACCAR’s designation for this recall is 20KWD.
