US FlagUS/Washington: Taher, Inc., a Plymouth, Minnesota establishment, recalls an estimated 22,096 pounds of Fresh Seasons Tator Tot Hot Dish Meals and Fresh Seasons Sloppy Joe Meals from the American marketplace due to suspected production without the benefit of federal inspection with consequential risks of bacterial contamination, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following prepared Meals produced and packaged on dates ranging from February 25, 2020 to September 22, 2020 are subject to this recall, as follows:

  • Fresh Seasons Tator Tot Hot Dish Meals, sold in 16-pound boxes each with four (4) bags, a batch/lot code designation of 056-282 and a barcode of 108101060239
  • Fresh Seasons Sloppy Joe Meals, sold in 16-pound boxes each with four (4) bags, a batch/lot code designation of 065-269 and a barcode of 1081010602366

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the recalled Fresh Seasons Meals may or may not bear establishment number “EST. 45091” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were known to be shipped to institutions and food service locations in Minnesota. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Prepared Meals identified above.

The problem was discovered during routine US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) activities that determined the Meals were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. Consequently, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Fresh Seasons Tator Tot Hot Dish Meals and/or Fresh Seasons Sloppy Joe Meals identified above.

The FSIS is concerned that some Fresh Seasons Prepared Meals may be in your refrigerators or freezers. If you have purchased any of these Meals since February 25, 2020, you are urged not to consume nor serve them. Instead, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Fresh Seasons Prepared Meal products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
