Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports the recalled Mini-Cultivators are one of 15 interchangeable attachments to the STIHL KombiMotor KM model Powerheads, which are sold separately.

  • The recalled Mini-Cultivators are used to break up loose soil in preparation of planting and/or gardening. Each of the Mini-Cultivators has four (4) black discs with cutting tines mounted to a Gearbox and attached to a metal drive tube with a black deflector. The Mini-Cultivator attachment should have been assembled by the STIHL dealer and not sold in a box or assembled by the consumer. The recalled Mini-Cultivator attachments are those with the Gearbox installed upside down.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Mini-Cultivator Gardening Attachments products can be found on the Web site listed above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Gearbox could have mistakenly been installed upside down by the STIHL dealer causing the tines of the Cultivator to rotate backwards toward the operator, posing a laceration hazard to the operator when utilizing the lawn gardening product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled STIHL BF-KM Mini-Cultivator Attachments, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat laceration, concussion and/or bone fractures.
